Visitor Insurance Provided by Destination Travel Group
Anyone who is not protected by a provincial plan should carry health and accident insurance during a stay in Canada. That includes tourists, parents and grandparents on Super Visa, spouses and family members visiting for a few weeks, business travellers, IEC and working holiday participants, international students before school plans start, newcomers waiting for a health card, and returning Canadians in waiting periods.
Canadian Visitor Insurance Plan is a comprehensive emergency medical plan for people visiting Canada. It is administered by Destination Travel Group, underwritten by Zurich Insurance Company Ltd (Canadian Branch) and supported by a 24-hour assistance team. It covers hospital services, physician care, diagnostics, ambulance, and other eligible expenses during an unforeseen illness or injury.
Before purchase your advisor reviews your trip dates, age, and medical profile, recommends a sum insured and deductible, and sets the effective date correctly. After purchase your advisor remains the point of contact for renewals, extensions, qualified cancellations, and document updates.
The plan covers emergency hospital and physician services up to the chosen limit. That typically includes semi-private room, intensive care when required, operating room, diagnostic tests, and fees for physicians and specialists.
